Circle of Security Parenting

At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what out child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security Parenting program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

Learning Objectives of the Training:

· Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read the emotional needs.

· Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions.

· Enhance the development of your child’s self-esteem.

· Honor your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure.

Who:

Parents or caregivers of children 4 mo.—6 years old

When:

April 22nd – June 17th (No class May 27th)

Attendance to all classes is required for a certificate of completion.

Learners will explore methods and techniques to help communicate with the families of the children in their program in an honest, sensitive, empathic and culturally appropriate way. Strategies will focus on informal daily communication to build positive relationships as well as formal meetings to discuss concerns about development and behavior.

Training Objectives:

1 . By the end of the session, learners will develop a plan on how to maintain positive and appropriate relationships with families.

2 . By the end of the session, learners will identify when to use different methods of communication to engage all families in active two-way communication sensitively, empathically.

3 . By the end of the session, learners will be able to determine a variety of positive communication techniques with their families about general daily communication, developing skills, and accomplishment.
