Learners will explore methods and techniques to help communicate with the families of the children in their program in an honest, sensitive, empathic and culturally appropriate way. Strategies will focus on informal daily communication to build positive relationships as well as formal meetings to discuss concerns about development and behavior.<\/p>\n

This class expands on information and concepts from the introduction class titled “Observation & Assessment: What, Why and How” class by diving further into interpreting the data. Additionally we will discuss conducting effective parent interviews and take a closer look at the various assessment tools.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>1 . <\/strong><\/em>Identify characteristics of effective assessments in ECE setting.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>2 . <\/strong><\/em>Describe ways to interpret assessment data.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>3 .<\/strong><\/em> List indicators of effective parent interviews.<\/p>\n

Each professional development session offered by The Children\u2019s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training.
